Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread. I've thoroughly enjoyed the stories and have learned a great deal about long distance in the rain. I'm sure it will pay off one of these days. Personally, I welcome first-person stories about races and other skating that anyone has done. I learn about places and techniques in each one. Keep 'em coming!
