Scott Jones to Step Down as Head of A2A After 2011 Season
As we approach our 30th annual A2A skate, we are also approaching a new chapter in the continuation of this event. After serving for 6 years as the leader and event planner of the A2A, Scott Jones has announced that he will be stepping down after the event this October 2011. Scott has kept the event going during very difficult times as the skaters participating in A2A, has gone from close to 800 to the 145 we had in October 2010. Through his leadership, the Atlanta Peachtree RoadRollers have continued to produced one the the finest, as well as the longest running, outdoor road skating event in the world.

In making this announcement now, Scott is hoping that someone, or a group, will step up to learn from him what it takes to put this skate together and take over the leadership role that will take A2A into the future with the same quality of event that we have had for so many skaters, for so many years. The core volunteer group is in place, but a new leader and director will be greatly needed to move A2A beyond 2011.

For those of you who have been away for a while, come see us in October. Be part of our long history as we celebrate not only the 30th anniversary of the Athens to Atlanta Road Skate, but to thank Scott for his years as our leader. We will see you in October!

Henry Zuver
